Companies are using Artificial Intelligence in every kind of innovative ways to advance their businesses overall. If you’ve ever searched Netflix for watching a movie, AI (a recommendation algorithm) was no doubt used in order to find your decision about what to watch. If you’ve shopped something on Amazon, your decision about what product to buy on Amazon was also influenced by AI (via an association algorithm).

These same types of AI algorithms can be used to power any company’s decision-making process, helping you make better business predictions.

Artificial Intelligence has taken the world by a storm. The e-commerce sector is one of the sectors which has been tremendously influenced by Artificial Intelligence. Starting from providing assistance during a purchase to providing after-sales service in e-commerce – Artificial Intelligence plays an integral role in all of the activities.

Chatbots are now being employed by a myriad of e-commerce sites to interact with the customers to assist them, provide them real-time sales advice on a particular product and to provide the necessary communication without actual human involvement. In addition to that, the large customer database of e-commerce sites is also handled by Artificial Intelligence. It helps in maintain a record of the past purchases of users and it also analyzes the buying behavior of customers, so as to recommend them products that they might want to buy.

Role of Artificial Intelligence in E-commerce

Today, most e-commerce sites have a feature of Image Search which enables people to search for their interest of products just by searching by uploading some image of a similar product. This is facilitated by Artificial Intelligence too. Here, it helps in comparing the likeness of that uploaded image with that of the products available and to provide the customers the list of the products with matching physical attributes.

Also, since e-commerce sites are operated over the internet, they are also susceptible to the issues of cybercrime. In this case, Artificial Intelligence aids by providing cybersecurity by preventing hackers from having unauthorized access into the system and eventually into the financial data of the customers.

Artificial Intelligence also handles customer feedback by initiating feedback forms after sales and delivery and by managing return orders as well.

Thus, it can be seen that Artificial Intelligence has not only enriched the user experience at e-commerce sites, but it has also provided the managers of the sites with easy processes to manage their sales.
